www.pepperpot-productions.com/theatredesvampires/html/coven.html Take a look at this Ann Rice Vampire link. About what the vampire is or well may be. I think that these are evolved Avarian like beings. Ann Rice just like Tolkien claims its all fiction but is it really? Immortality great stregnth it even said or she at least said a Vampires shunning the sun is loosing the Male Aspect of themselves and they are connected to the Earth and deal with the feminin, darkness, Moon. Connection? O yes I think so. Just look at the link.

What does this have to do with the Elven kin exactly? I do not remember the Avari needing human blood to survive And vampires are definitely not an evolution.. An evolved race does not rely on the previous form of the race (namely humans, since Anne Rice's work is concerned with Men) for sustenance, for if Men were all destroyed, Vampires also would be destroyed with them...They are not suited for survival any better than Men... It is definitely an interesting book series to read though, and portrays the vampire in a slightly different light than authors before or after. I know someone who swears that the books are real. Oh yes and Tolkien never claimed his work was all fiction. He said that he discovered the books, that he did not create them.... I think the connection between vampires and Avari is quite a stretch. According to the Anne Rice books the vampires are only several thousand years old and they list Akasha and Enkil as being one of the first. I myself highly doubt any connection between Rice and Tolkien for I see no evidence of it.

basicly on the Elven aspect vampires are immortal just like elves. Also Avarie back then were different more wild like. Also very fair skin. Avarie just like vampires hated the sun shunned it and were more with darkness and the moon. Thats the connection I see.

Vampires are immortal because they were made that way by another vampire in an effort to cheat death and to put oneself above natural law.( All the vampires in the books wanted to become that way either out of fear of death, or for power over others, at least that is what I remember from reading the series) The Avari were immortal naturally bounded by the life of Arda. I see these two kinds of "immortality" as being quite different. The Avari also did not shun the Sun as vampires do. They tended to be of darker mood and more suspicious due to their exposure to Melkor and his many servants who have tried to twist them to their will and have often succeeded, but they could go out into the Sun whenever they wished and it did not bother them. All of the Elvenkin tended to be fair of skin, mellon....and what do you mean by wild-like exactly? I feel there may be some similarity with the immortality issue until you look at it very deeply, then the differences become greater. This is my opinion on this issue.

yes I agree with you on somethings lol. Its just from my research Avarie did not like the sun and is why the went deeper into the forests. While Men were of the Sun Elves were of the Moon. Vampires from research some sya that vampires are also bound to the earth after death they still remain. ( I think i did a good topic here lol) But hey we are all not exactly the same.

Immortal? ... lol Being immortal is something that vampires are not. Their kind of been around for a long time, but they are not immortal, if they were they would be much more complex today in what they do... Look at what you were sayying... 'They are not suited for survival any better than Men...' If thats so... and they are immortal... how is that? When living so many years.. they would be living a better life when it comes to survival.

I meant immortal in the way Tisha had used the term, of course nothing is immortal or everlasting, because we are all subject to change and impermanence. To me an immortal being is a being who exists for a very long length of time, but will eventually pass away. For example the Elves were immortal but bound by the life of Arda which means that their lifespan was potentially the same as the lifespan of this planet. We call them immortal because we compare their lifespan with the human lifespan which is quite short in comparison, thus causing the arising of the notion (and illusion) that Elves or vampires for that matter can never die or pass away. Even spirit-form passes away into Oneness with the Source, so we cannot say that spirit is immortal and unchanging either. Well, Im rambling, hopefully I have made my point And welcome (back!!?) Little Wolf, I have heard much about you from Tisha(Indis)... Namarie Artanaro

This seems like an interesting discussion and I will have to say that neither have I read the books, nor do I know much about vampires in this life. I know that I was beloved to two of them in an earlier life, but I did not know about them then either. I will have to say that I do not believe the Avarie and the Vampires are the same, for any creature can become a vampire, even animals. It depends on the taste of the sire or the dam that brings that particualar creature across. Anyways, enough babbling on my part. I will be treading in waters I do not know very well if I go any further so I will stop now. Just thought I would put in that little bit of input. ^_^ I hope you all have a wonderful night! I am so excited, Christmas is on sunday! It is my absolute favorite holiday of man's. It is because I feel that at this time of year there is just so much positive energy. I love it and I joyfully embrace this spirit of Christmas. I hope you all have a very merry, happy Christmas. I am pretty sure I will!
