Salmar Meaning: Perhaps "Harp-player"

Salmar was a Maia who entered Arda with Ulmo and had forever remained in his service. Salmar was the one who had crafted the horns of Ulmo called the "Ulumúrí." He made the horns out of white shell, and it is said that anyone who heard the music from the horns never forgot it and a longing for the sea always remained in their hearts.
