Since I'm the first person presenting, I have to admit I don't want to do anything wrong.
So, if anything is bad, just tell me and I will delete this post, or the admin can.
Royal packs of the Moon, By Denise wolf
Chapter One
Releane ran for her life and her babies. The hunters were close on her trail and she was getting tired, but she had to keep going. There was no way she could let them catch her, but since she couldn't outrun them, she had to change tactics. It was time to hide. Scanning as she ran, Releane looked for a place to conceal her and her baby separately. If she got killed, the hunters would think that the last of the royal blood had been destroyed too. A female fox poked its head out of a hole and spotted her running towards it. Making sure that none of the hunters were above them, Releane stopped in front of the fox. "Listen, I know we are two separate species and you don't really understand my language, but I need your help. Can you take my daughter and keep her safe in your litter." She asked desperately. The vixen looked down at the squirming pup, and snarled. One of the vixens pups, stuck its little head out of the hole and Releane realized why the other canine was so wary. Her pup was at least two sizes bigger than the foxes puppies. Hearing crashing footsteps, Releane dropped to her stomach and rolled on to her back submissively. This threw the fox off, since this had never happened before, in the history of the forest. "You are very frightened for her life? Yes?" She asked in broken wolf language. "Yes, please you must help me." Releane begged in the best way she could pronounce it. "Then, give her to me. I will protect her with my life, like I protect my own offspring." She said with full conviction. "Thank you, so much. I may not be able to repay you, since my life may be extinguished." She said softly licking her shivering pup. "I was already aware of that. As I said, I will protect her with my life." She said picking the pup up in her mouth. "Oh, yes. One more thing. If you ever get in trouble, don't let her get scared, hurt, or angry. She may be the last of the royal wolf pack, and everything you know depends on her survival." She said hurriedly. "I won't let anything happen to her. She is safe with me, but just in case, I have many other dens to take her to." She said swiftly disappearing in the hole. Releane felt as if a part of her had been torn away and knew at that moment, she wasn't going to survive the night.
Releane ran until the early mornings light and collapsed under a huge pine tree. Panting heavily, she calmly watched the sun rise. Shining over the horizon and sprinkling the grass with rainbows of light, off the dewey surface. For at least an hour, she heard nothing, but the wind in the trees blowing by. Then, suddenly, she heard paw prints approaching and stood to fight. Growling softly, so she wouldn't attract more than one hunter, Releane hunched her shoulders and flattened her ears. After a little more time, another wolf jumped out of the bushes, ready to fight. "Rush!" She said surprised to see one of her royal knights. "Come on. We have to go." He said looking worse than she thought she did. "Aren't you hunting me down?" She asked confused. "No, I've been following you ever since you escaped. Now, come on, they're coming." He said urgently, then ducking down and flattening his ears. "Go! Here they come." He said howling defiantly. "No, I will not run. My daughter is safe and I am no coward." She said stepping up beside him. Flying out of the bush like a black missile, came one wolf, followed by another. Rush chased the first wolf down and Releane met the second one head on. It was a young male that she fought and ultimately would lose to. His teeth sank into her thick fur, but didn't break any skin. Taking advantage of his adolescence, Releane threw him off of her, at an angle so that his head hit a sharp rock and knocked him unconscious. Two more wolves leaped out of the dense forest, and slammed her to the ground. From under them, she saw four more wolves go after Rush. Using her well known ability to see an opponents weakness early on in a battle, Releane thrust her head forward and ripped out one of the wolves stomach. She howled in agony and fell down. Releane rolled out from under the dying wolf and atttacked the other one. This wolf was not caught off guard and pinned her to the ground, then bit her in the throat. This time they penetrated, but only enough to cause undue pain. Releane threw him off and attacked head on, slashing at his throat. She picked him up and threw him down again, then killed him. Ten more ran in and Rush was backed against a wall, then Releane was slammed to the ground. Rush fought valiantly and extinguished at least three of the wolves, but was killed in front of Releane's eyes. She managed to take down nine out of the overall army, leaving only two, but she knew there'd soon be more.
Releane now wanted to live, but she knew she had to get past these last two soldiers. She charged head on with all of her strength, and knocked both to the ground. They scrapped for a few minutes, but she won against the weaker two and began to run again. Stopping at Rush's side to say a silent prayer, Releane prepared to jump in the river below. Leaping off the cliff, Releane didn't see the vine rope, until it was around her neck. She soon found herself dangling in mid-air, with all of the breath knocked out of her. Being careful not to panic, Releane stretched out her claws and began cutting the rope. While concentrating on setting herself free, Releane didn't realize she was being dragged back up over the cliff. The hard landing on the ground, made her look up. Standing up for her slaughtered comrades, Releane faced her death with a fight.
